Evidence of the Existence of God 267 immoral in their mutual relationships. This is the essential basis of the rise and fall of all great nations in the past. However, Allah in His Grace, sent warners to them before their destruction. When they did not pay heed, they were allowed to be destroyed at their own hands. Alas! every beginning, however great, has to be subject to decline and ultimate destruction. But the heights they had achieved cannot be denied by observing the fall. This destiny commands all things alike, both the animate and inanimate. The Evidence of the Universe The seed of the evidence is already described to have been sown in the evidence of the angels mentioned earlier. In addition, the Holy Quran draws our attention to God being One, without partners. This evidence is imprinted upon each particle of the universe. The following are the relevant verses:
