There is also another danger that the claimant to be may be of low understanding and as such he may not be able to fully safeguard his own rights. In such a case the burden of writing or dictation is shifted from him to his patron who would work on his behalf as his attorney. As such, he would take every precaution that the spirit of the contract is moulded into appropriate wording. This verse does not discriminate against women witnesses because it would not be two women standing together as witness. Only one woman will present the case and the second one will be there to remind her in case she forgets. Unfortunately, the orthodox mullah does not realise this difference and considers Islam to be actually presenting two female witnesses against one man. This same verse points out that, on occasions, a woman may not fully grasp all the implications of a financial matter. Or she may be prone to forget some aspects of a financial settlements. It was to eliminate such possibilities that the Holy Quran introduced this convention. Nowhere in the Holy Quran do we find that the testimony of two women is considered equivalent to that of one man.
