237 15 Testimony of Muslims against Non - Muslims and Vice Versa There is one aspect of the subject of testimony which has assumed great importance these days, namely the relative merit of evidence of Muslims and non- Muslims, one against the other. Many modern Muslim scholars do grave injustice to the teachings of Islam by arguing that Islam does not accept the evidence of a non-Muslim against that of a Muslim, while the evidence of a Muslim must always be accepted against his non-Muslim opponent. They misinterpret certain verses of the Quran in support of their contention which can never be proved as valid in the light of the overall teachings of Islam and the conduct of its Holy Founder sa. Virtually they allege that according to Islam, justice is fine as long as it serves the purpose of Muslims alone. If this is their sense of justice then let justice die forever. Long live injustice! But the justice which the Quran admonishes will never die. …
