Justice encompasses every fundamental aspect of Islamic worship. Prayers are offered in the mosques and at home, in congregation and individually. Had Islam prescribed only congregational prayers, a large number of people may gradually have drifted away from performing prayers altogether. If Islam had not offered them any alternative for congregational prayers, the prayer may altogether have disappeared from their daily lives. The case of most non-church going Christians offers an apparent similarity. Another important aspect of justice in prayer is that it also combines individual prayers with congregational prayers. Individual prayers are almost always performed along with every congregational prayer. Also worth mentioning is the fact that congregational prayers are not made obligatory upon women like they are upon men. Had it been the case, women would have found themselves placed under a tremendous burden. This is because they (the women) are generally responsible for the supervision of home and the care of the children. Even a mother of a small baby who requires constant attention would be required to go to the mosque. It will be a cruelty to her as well as to the baby.
