— Part II 198 the Promised Messiah as and reported that Muhammad H ay a t had made a complete recovery. He responded by saying, 'So why didn't you bring him with you?' Earlier, Muhammad H ay a t’s father had been informed by telegram that there was no chance of his son surviving. It was now thought imperative that he should be informed of this great miracle so that his mind is set at ease. We took leave of the Promised Messiah as and were on our way to send him another telegram from Batala, a town twelve miles west of Qadian, which provided telegraphic facilities. But to our surprise we found H ay a t sitting in a horse carriage, coming towards Qadian at the canal two miles to the west of Qadian. He asked us, 'How is H ay a t Kh a n?' We narrated the above miracle to him. On hearing the good news he fainted. When he finally came around, he performed the ablution and began to offer supererogatory prayers. At this point we left him and returned home. " 19 The Philosophy of Prayer Let us now turn to the manner of prayer and learn how it should be begged. Discussing the philosophy of prayer, Allah says clearly in the Quran that people who pray only for worldly things are granted just that; but God’s servants are not satisfied with asking for minor things. So the Quran exhorts the true believers to offer the following prayer:
