be witnessed by all. And We delay it not save for a computed term. (11:104,105). THE BELIEVERS DO NOT PREFER THE. PRESENT LIFE TO THE LIFE HEREAFTER يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ أَنفِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَنَّا قَلْتُمْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ أَرَضِيتُم بِالْحَيَوةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ فَمَا مَتَعُ الْحَيَوةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا قَلِيرُ. O ye who believe! what is the matter with you that, when it is said to you, go forth in the way of Allah, you sink heavily towards the earth? Would you be contented with the present life in preference to the Hereafter? But the enjoyment of the present life is but little, as compared with the Hereafter. (9:38) زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الْحَيَوةُ الدُّنْيَا وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَمَةِ وَاللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ. The life of this world is made to appear attractive to those who disbelieve; and they scoff at those who believe. But those who fear God shall be above them on the Day of. Resurrection; and Allah bestows His gifts on whomsoever. He pleases without reckoning. (2:213) 171
