78 10. The Holy Prophet (peace be on him) warned against discrimination in the matter of law enforcement saying: Have you started making intersession in matters concerning Allah's law? Then he stood up and declared: People who have passed away were ruined by such di::; crimination. When a person of note among them com mitted a crime they let him go free, but they imposed the full rigour of the law against the common people. Allah is my witness that if Fatimah my daughter had been guilty of theft I would have imposed the prescribed penalty. 11. Said the Prophet (peace be on him): I am but a human being, you bring me your disputes and if a man's pleading is plausible I might decide in his favour on th<. ! basis of what I hear. But if what he claims belongs to his brother, I decree for him only a piece of the Fire. * * *
