50 THE WILL-AL-WAŞIYYAT THE FOLLOWING DECISIONS WERE TAKEN. I. It was resolved that the proposed draft of Wașiyyat be approved. 2. It was resolved that for the time being eight hundred cop- ies of the draft of Wașiyyat should be printed. Moreover, it should also be published in al-Hakam and Badr. 3. It was resolved that the following instructions be sent to the testators for compliance. Moreover, the said instruc- tions should also be printed below the Wașiyyat Form. a. If need be, the testator may ask for the draft form of the Wasiyyat, copy it on a plain paper and where there are blanks in the form, fill them in as required by his/her personal circumstances. Strong and dura- ble paper should be used for the purpose of writing the will. b. Wherever possible, the Waşiyyat should be reg- istered and heirs or, where applicable, those who have jointly made the Will,¹ should put their signa- tures on the Will as witnesses, and along with them two respectable persons of the town/city or village should also be made witnesses to the Will. 1. In the beginning it was permissible for several individuals (such as members of a family) to make a joint Will. Later this practice was dropped. [Publishers]
