THE WILL-AL-WAŞIYYAT برست آنکه بر موت دارد نگاه بریده از دنیا، دو دیده براه Delivered is he who is ever-mindful of his death Who breaks free from this world and hastens to follow the right path. 36 کشیده ز دنیا همه رخت و بار سفر کرده پیش از سفر سوئے یار Even before his death, he sets out on his journey to the Friend; Taking leave of this world and all that it contains. رہا کردہ سامان این خانه شست پئے دار عشقی کمر بستہ چست He is ever ready to leave for the hereafter; Discarding all the things mundane. ہماں بہ کہ دل بگسلی زیں مکال چو کار حیات است کارے نہاں Since the affairs of this life are so secret and arcane; You'd better break yourself free from this abode. جہنم کزو داد فرقان خبر ہمیں حرص دنیا است جان پدر My dear child! The Hell of which the Holy Quran speaks, Is none other than this greed for the world. چو آخر ز دنیا سفر کردن است چو روزے انہیں رہ گذر کردن است Since in the end one must bid farewell to this world; And, must sooner or later take this trip. چرا عاقلی دل به بندد درال که ناگه وزد بر گل او خزاں Why should a wise man tie his heart to a garden; Whose flowers are a prey to the autumn winds?
