141 a copy of the “Teaching of Isl ā m,” Lahori version of the “Philosophy of the Teachings of Isl ā m” by Ḥ a ḍ rat Mirz ā Ghul ā m A ḥ mad, the Promised Messiah (peace be on him). After I read the book “Philosophy of Teachings Isl ā m,” I was really astounded with the philosophical contents of this book, which explained in depth the wisdom of the Holy Qur’ ā n. It was first time in my life to discover what a beautiful religion Isl ā m was! Until now I had never heard of such beauties of Isl ā m from any other Muslim Maulav ī. I found those Maulav ī s always stuck up in quarrelling about small petty matters, local customs, rituals and Wahh ā b ī - Sunn ī feuds, etc. Prior to this, my original information about Qadiani A ḥ mad ī s was very limited. What I had heard was usual lies that A ḥ mad ī s are infidels and Mirz ā Ṣāḥ ib claimed to be a Prophet and on some occasions he even claimed himself to be a God (Na‘ ū dhu Bill ā h), and that he died ignominiously, etc. Time was passing when I heard the sad news in November 1971 that my friend Marghoob ‘ Ā lam died accidentally after falling from the ship.
