Chapter Eleven—Jesus Goes to India 171 miraculously healed some persons and performed other miracles. The king of the territory of Nasibin therefore, with all his armies and his people believed him. (b) This brief statement of Rauzat-us-Safa , says the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) leads to the conclusion that Jesus (peace be upon him) in the course of his travels had arrived at Nasibin, a city between Mosul and Syria. If one travels from Syria toward Persia one would pass through it. Nasibin is 450 miles from Jerusalem and 150 miles from frontier of Persia. The eastern frontier of Persia touches the town of Herat (Afghanistan). In other words, Herat lies on the eastern boundary of Persia. From Herat up to the Khaiber Pass the distance, is nearly 500 miles. The aforesaid report of Rauzat-us-Safa is certainly correct insofar as, after his rejection and persecution by Israel in Palestine, Jesus migrated from Palestine and reached Nasibin; it was in accord with his mission. Josephus, the well-known historian of that time, tells us that Nasibin at that time, was inhabited by the Jews of the lost ten tribes. He says: A dreadful calamity now befell the Jews that were in Mesopotamia and especially those that dwelt in Babylonia. There was also the city Nisibis, situated on the same cur- rent of the river.
