( 75 ) and bearer of His attributes. It sets forth the purpose of God. in the creation of man and the Islamic con- ception of man~s duty. Man's d~ty is to reproduce on a human scale the beautiful attributes of God. This is impossible. unless man turns to God again and again and ask for His help and guidance at every step ; unless. by devotion and sacrifice man makes himself worthy of the sacred trust which God has placed in his hands; unless man seeks the support and sustenance of God in h·erything he undertakes; and unless he learns to rely on God in everything. This is the ever-lasting message, to fulfil which, the Promised Messiah came into the world. He came to draw away man-:- kind from excessive worldliness and lead them back to their duty to ·God.
