I have made it incumbent upon my community not to respond to the evil of these people and to live a humble life and I too have made it obligatory upon myself to remain silent in the face of these vile allegations and slander. That is why my com - munity and I have always remained silent in the face of such lewd remarks. Any fair-minded person could discern how hurtful the action of Maulvi Muhammad Husain was in his instigating one of his cohorts, Muhammad Bakhsh Jafar Zatalli, to publish an announcement about me alleging that my wife had illicit rela - tions with the members of my community. However, I remained silent upon hearing this allegation. Then, in another announce - ment he wrote that he had come to know that I had died and my flesh had been devoured by dogs. But again, I showed forbear - ance. Then, he wrote that he received a revelation to the effect that my wife would stray and marry Muhammad Bakhsh Jafar Zatalli, with Muhammad Husain solemnising the marriage. But I still remained patient. In another announcement he declared and depicted me as a bear with a rope drawn around its neck along with a highly abusive caption. In yet another announcement he stated that it was revealed to him that I would be imprisoned and struck with leprosy. The same Muhammad Husain wrote in Isha’at-us-Sunnah that I was a murderer, a philanderer, and a rebel.
