In Lahore, a special meeting of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at was convened by Khwaja Kamaluddin at his own house, and it was explained to members that the entire Movement was in danger, that the proper representative of the Promised Messiah as was none other than the Anjuman and that if this view was not accepted it would ruin the Community and destroy the whole Movement. Signatures were also obtained from the people to a statement to the effect that according to the writing of the Promised Messiah as the Anjuman was his proper successor. Only two men, viz.
