[ 30 ] Would he be accused of being a disbeliever for the above words? Again, in the same book Hadrat Ibn-e-‘Arab i states: The prophethood which came to an end with the advent of the Holy Prophet sa was law-bearing nubuw- wat and not the status of prophethood. There is no room for prophethood which should abrogate the message of the Holy Prophet sa or should add any- thing to it. This is the correct meaning of the h ad i th which contains the Holy Prophet’s saying; ‘There is to be no Messenger or Prophet after me. ’ The h ad i th only conveys that after the Holy Prophet sa such prophethood has come to an end and there can be no Prophet or Messenger after him, that is, who will replace his Shar i ‘ah with another one. ( Ibid. , p. 4) Similarly, Sheikh B a l i A fand i (died 960 A. H. ) wrote: Kh a tamur-Rusul is one after whom no Prophet with a new law can come. ( Shara h Fu sus -ul- H ikam , p. 56). :. .
