PRAYERS 2 1. A Perfect and Comprehensive Prayer The Holy Prophet sa proclaimed S u rah Al-F a ti h ah as the foremost and the Best of the Holy Qur’ a n. 1 It was revealed to the Holy Prophet sa that perfect prayers, not given to any earlier Prophet, were S u rah Al- F a ti h ah and the last few verses of the S u rah Al-Baqarah. And whosoever prays with reference to these verses will be granted whatever he supplicates. 2 In a tradition revealed to the Holy Prophet sa All a h Almighty said “I have divided s a la t between My servant and Myself. And My servant will certainly get whatsoever has been supplicated in this prayer. ” 3 ِ ِّٰﺑِﺴْﻢ َّا اﻟﺮ ﺣْﻤٰﻦ ْ َاﻟﺮَّﺣِﻴﻢ ا ُِِّٰ ٰ حلَْﻤْﺪ َرَب ِّ اﻟْﻌ ﻠَﻤِني َّ. اﻟﺮ ٰ ﺣْﻤ ﻦ ْ ِ اﻟﺮَّﺣِﻴ ﻢ ٰ. ِ ﻣ ْ ﻠِﻚ ﻳَﻮْمِ اﻟﺪِّﻳ َﻦِ. إِﻳَّﺎك ُ َﻧَﻌْﺒُﺪ َو ُْإِﻳَّﺎك ﻧَﺴْﺘَﻌِني. اِﻫْﺪِﻧَﺎ َ اﻟﺼِّﺮَاط َاملُْﺴْﺘَﻘِﻴْﻢَ. َ ﺻِﺮَاط اﻟَّﺬِﻳْﻦ أَﻧْﻌَﻤْﺖَ 2َﻠَﻴْﻬِﻢْ 5َريِْاملَْﻐْﻀُﻮْبِ 2َﻠَﻴْﻬِﻢ ْ وَﻻَاﻟﻀَّﺂ ﻟِّنيَْ. (Al-F a ti h ah 1:1-7) In the name of All a h , the Gracious, the Merciful. All praise belongs to All a h , Lord of all the worlds, Gracious, the Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgement. You alone do we worship and You alone do we implore for help. Guide us in the right path - the path of those on whom You have bestowed Your blessings, those who have not incurred displeasure, and those who have not gone astray. 2.
