PRAYERS 107 Prophet sa came at the time of Ab u Salamah's death, he closed his eyes which were open until then and advised the wailing people that this was the time of prayer for blessings as the angels are saying ' A m i n' in response to the prayer. He then prayed in these words: ْ ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اﻏ ِْﻔِﺮ ْﻻَِىب ْ ﺳَﻠَﻤَﺔ َ وَار ﻓَﻊ دَرَﺟَﺘªَ َْ ْ ىف ِ امل َْ ﻬ ْ ﺪِﻳِّني ْوَاﺧ ﻠُﻔ ª ُ ىف ِ ﻋَﻘِﺒªِ ِ ْ ىف ْ اﻟ ْ ﻐَﺎﺑِﺮِﻳ ْ ﻦ َ وَاﻏ ﻔِﺮ ﻟَﻨَﺎ وَﻟªَ ْ َْ ﻳَﺎ رَب َّ اﻟ ْ ﻌَﺎملَِني ْوَاﻓ ﺴَﺢ ﻟªَ ِْ ىف ِ ﻗَرب ہ ْ و َ ﻧَﻮِّر ﻟªَ ْ ﻓِﻴ ªِ. 216 O All a h , forgive Ab u Salamah, exalt his rank among the guided ones. And make the people who are left behind good heirs. O Lord of the worlds, forgive him and us. Make his grave spacious and illumine it for him. Note: Name Ab u Salamah should be replaced by the dying person's name. Prayer for Recompense for Affliction Hadrat Umm-e-Salamah ra relates at the death of Ab u Salamah, the Holy Prophet sa said, that one should recite َ اِﻧَّﺎ ﻟِﻠªّٰ ِ وَاِﻧَّﺎ اِﻟَﻴª ِ رَاﺟِﻌُﻮن and supplicate in these words: ْ ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ ا ِْ ﺟُﺮ ِْىن ْىف ِْ ﻣُﺼِﻴ ْ;َىت ْ وَاﺧ ِْﻠُﻒ ًْىل ِّ ﺧَري ﻣ ْ ا ﻨ ﻬَﺎ. 217 O All a h , grant me recompense for this affliction and give me a good reward for it. Funeral Prayer Hadrat Ab u Hurairah ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa used to recite this prayer at funerals: ْ ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اﻏ ِْﻔِﺮ ِْ حلَِ[ِّﻨَﺎ وَﻣَﻴZِِّﻨَﺎ ،و َ ﺷَﺎﻫِﺪِﻧَﺎ و َ 5َﺎﺋِ;ِﻨَﺎ ،و َ ﺻَﻐِري ﻧَﺎ و َ کَﺒِري ، ﻧَﺎ ْ وَ اُﻧ ْ وَذَکَﺮِﻧَﺎ ْﺜَﺎﻧَﺎ،اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ ﻣَﻦ ْ اَﺣ [َﻴ َ ﺘ ª ْ ﻣِﻨَّﺎ ﻓَﺎَﺣ ﻴªِ ْ 2َ_َ اﻻِْﺳ ْ ْﻼَمِ ،وَﻣَﻦ ﺗَﻮَﻓَّ[ ﺘªَ َّ ﻓَﺘَﻮَﻓ ﻣِﻨَّﺎ ª َْ 2َ_َ اﻻِۡمي َّ َْﺎنِ. اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ ْ ﻻَ حت ْ ﺮِﻣ اَﺟ َ ﻨَﺎ ﺮ ہ ْ ْ وَﻻَ ﺗَﻔ ﺑَﻌ ِﻨَّﺎZ َ ﺪ ہ . 218 O All a h , forgive our living ones and our deceased ones, and those of us who are present and our
