PRAYERS 41 Prayer for Blessings in Intentions and Actions Hadrat Ab u -Bakr S idd i q ra relates that whenever the Holy Prophet sa intended to do something he used to pray: ِْ ِ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ ﺧِﺮْىل وَاﺧْرتَْىل. 45 O All a h , bestow means of goodness on me and choose best for me. Prayer for Attaining Love of God ‘Abdull a h bin Yaz i d Al-An sa r i ra relates the Holy Prophet sa offered this prayer for attaining love of God along with his other prayers: َ َّ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ ارْزُﻗْىنِْ ﺣُﺒَّک ِْ و َ ﺣُﺐ َّ ﻣَﻦْ ﻳ رَزَﻗZَْىن َّ ﻨْﻔَﻌُىنِْ ﺣُﺒªُّٗ ﻋِﻨْﺪَک َ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ ﻣَﺎ ممَِّﺎ اُﺣِﺐ ُّ ﻓَﺎﺟْﻌَﻠªْٗ ﻗُﻮ ة ِّْ ً ىل◌ ٗ ﻓِﻴْﻤَﺎ حتُِﺐُّ وَﻣَﺎ زَوَﻳْﺖ ُ ﻋَىن ِّْ ممَِّﺎ اُﺣِﺐُّ ﻓَﺎﺟْﻌَﻠªْ حتُِﺐُّ. ىلِّْ ﻓِﻴْﻤَﺎ ﻓَﺮَا5ًﺎ 46 O All a h , bestow on me Your love and the love of that which would benefit me before You. O All a h ! grant me my beloved things that You bestow on me and make them a means of attaining Your favourite things. Help me to withdraw from the things that I am attached to and instead guide me towards those things that You love. Hadrat D a w u d as 's(David) Prayer Hadrat Ab u Dard a ’ ra relates that Hadrat D a w u d as (David) who was foremost in worshipping God, used to recite this prayer for attaining the love of God: َّ ِْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اِىن ِّ اَﺳۡﺌَﻠُک َ ﺣُﺒَّک َ و َ ﺣُﺐ َّ ﻣَﻦ ْ حيُِﺒُّک َ وَاﻟْﻌَﻤَﻞ َ اﻟَّﺬِی ْ ﻳُﺒَﻠِّﻐُىن ﺣُﺒَّکَ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ اﺟْﻌَﻞْ ﺣُﺒ ِ کَ اَﺣَﺐ َّ اِىلََّ ﻣِﻦْ ﻧَﻔºْ ِْ وَ ﻣَﺎىل ِْ وَ اَﻫْ_ِْ وَ ﻣِﻦَ املَْﺂ ء اﻟْﺒَﺎرِدِ. 47 O All a h , I beg You for Your love and the love of one who loves You and such conduct as should lead me to Your love. O All a h , make Your love
