PRAYERS 35 82. Prayer Recited at Dawn and Dusk for Recompense of Failings Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Abb a s ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa said: “If a person recites these verses at dawn he would recompensate his day's failings in advance and if he recites them at dusk, his sins during the night will be atoned”. 40 ٰ َ ﻓَﺴُﺒْﺤ ِّٰﻦ َْا ْﺣِني َ متُْﺴُﻮ َْن ْوَﺣِني َ ﺗُﺼْﺒِﺤُﻮ ٗن ُوَﻟَﻪ ِاحلَْﻤْﺪ ٰيف ِ اﻟﺴَّﻤٰﻮ ِت وَاﻷَْرْض َّوَﻋَﺸِﻴًّﺎ َْ و ْﺣِني َ ﺗُﻈْﻬِﺮُو ُن َّخيُْﺮِج َاحلَْﻲ ِﻣِﻦ ُاملَْﻴِّﺖ َوَخيُْﺮِج َاملَْﻴِّﺖ ِّﻣِﻦ ِاحلَْﻲ َوَحيُْﻲ َاﻷَْرْض ﺑَﻌْﺪ ٰﻣَﻮَِْﺎ َ وَﻛَﺬ ْﻟِﻚ َ ختُْﺮَﺟُﻮ ن. (Ar-R u m 30:18-20) So glorify All a h when you enter the evening and when you enter the morning. And to Him belongs all praise in the heavens and the earth. And glorify Him in the afternoon and when you enter upon the time of the decline of the sun. He brings forth the living from the dead and He brings forth the dead from the living; and He gives life to the earth after its death. And in like manner shall you be brought forth. 83. Prayer at Times of Adversity When the believers who are patient face a calamity or receive a shock they pray in the following manner. God bestows His blessings and mercy on them. These are the rightly guided people. Hadrat H usain bin ‘Al i ra relates that if a believer recites “ Inn a lill a hi wa inn a ilaihi R a ji‘ u n ” God grants him reward equal to his adversity. 41 Lost things are found by the blessings of this prayer. ِِّٰإِﻧَّﺎ ِوَإِﻧَّﺎ ٰإِﻟَﻴْﻪ ْ ر َ ﺟِﻌُﻮ ن. (Al-Baqarah 2:157)
