PRAYERS 17 34. Prayer for Safety from Being Unjust in Times of Strength The Holy Prophet sa instructed his followers to treat the vanquished people with kindness. ِّ رَب ِّْإِﻣَّﺎ ﺗُﺮِﻳَين ْﻣَﺎ ْ ﻳُﻮ 2َﺪُو َ ِّن َرَب ِْﻓَﻼ ِجتَْﻌَﻠْين ِيف ّٰاﻟْﻘَﻮْم َْ اﻟﻈ ﻠِﻤِني. (Al-Mu’min u n 23: 94-95) My Lord, if You will show me that with which they are threatened. My Lord, then place me not, with the wrongdoing people. 35. Prayer for Increase of Knowledge The Holy Prophet sa was taught the following prayer so that his decisions be Divinely guided. ِّ ِرَب ْزِدْين ◌ 2ِﻠْﻤًﺎ. ( Ta H a 20:115) O my Lord, increase me in knowledge. 36. Prayer for Open-Heartedness, Ease of Affairs and Effectiveness of Speech When Hadrat M u s a a (Moses) was instructed to deliver God's message to the Pharaoh's court, he prayed in these words. Hadrat Asm a’ binte ‘Umais ra relates "I heard the Holy Prophet sa offering this prayer at the foot of Mount Thab i r. He was praying to his God and saying, “O my Lord, I pray to You in the same words as my brother M u s a as (Moses). ” 21 ِّ ْرَب ِْاﺷْﺮَح ْيل ْﺻَﺪْرِي ِْوَﻳَﺴِّﺮ ْيل ْأَﻣْﺮِي ًوَاﺣْﻠُﻞ ِّﻋُﻘْﺪَة ْ ﻣ ِّﻦ ِْ ﻟ ْﺴَﺎين ﻳَﻔْﻘَﻬُﻮ ِْا ﻗَﻮْيل. ( Ta H a 20:26-29) My Lord, open up for me my heart. And ease for me my task. And untie the knot of my tongue, That they may understand my speech.
