PRAYERS 103 Ummul Mu’min i n Hadrat H af s ah ra relates that at night the Holy Prophet sa used to put his right hand under his cheek and repeat this prayer three times: ِْ ْاَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ ﻗِىن ْ 2َﺬَاﺑَکَ ﻳَﻮ َ مَ ﺗَﺒ ﻌَﺚُ ﻋِﺒَﺎدَک. 205 O All a h , save me from the punishment of the day when You resurrect mankind. Hadrat ‘Al i ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa used to recite this at bedtime: ْ ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ اِىنِّ اَﻋُﻮ ْ ذُ ﺑِﻮَﺟ ْ ﻬِک َ اﻟ ْ کَﺮِﻳ ْﻢِ وَ Lَﻠِﻤَﺎﺗِکَ اﻟﺘَّﺎﻣَّﺎت ِ ﻣِﻦ اَﻧ َ ﺷَﺮِّ ﻣَﺎ ﺖ آﺧِﺬ ٌ ﺑِﻨَﺎﺻِ[َﺘªِ ْ ْ ،اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اَﻧ َْ ﺖ َ ﺗَک ْ ﺸِﻒ ُ امل َْ ﻐ ْ ﺮَم َ و َ امل ُ ﺎﺛَﻢ َ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ ﻻ َ ﻳُﻬ ْ ﺰَم ُْ ﺟُﻨ ْ ﺪُک َ ،وَﻻ َ خي 2َﻠَﻒ ُ و َ ْﺪُک َ ،وَﻻ َْ ﻳَﻨ ْ ﻔَﻊ ُ ذَااجل ﺪ ِّ ﻣِﻨ َْ ْ ک َ اجل َ ﺪ ُّ ﺳُﺒ ْ ﺤَﺎﻧَک وَحبَِﻤ ﺪِکَ. 206 O All a h , I seek shelter in Your Exalted Countenance. I seek shelter with Your perfect and comprehensive words from every evil that is in Your control. O All a h You alone remove the burdens of trials and sins. O All a h , Your forces are never defeated and Your promise is not apposed. No great person’s greatness can benefit him in apposition to You. Holy are You with Your praise. Hadrat Abul-A z har ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa used to say this prayer while retiring at night: ْ ْ ﺑِﺴ ْ ﻢِ اﷲِ ،وَﺿَﻌ َﺖُ ﺟ ِْ ْىب ْ ،اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ اﻏ ِْ ﻔِﺮ ِْىل َذَﻧىب ،و ْ أ ِ ﺧ ْ ﺴ ْﺊ ِْ ﺷَﻴ َّﻄَﺎىن ِْ ،وَ ﻓُک ْ رِﻫَﺎىن ْ ،وَاﺟ ْ ﻌَﻠ ٰ ىنِ ىفِ اﻟﻨَّﺪِیِّ اﻻ2َْ _. 207 In the name of All a h , I lie down in bed. O All a h , forgive my sins and frustrate the Satan in me. Enable me to fulfill my obligations and covenants and accommodate me in the company of Your angels.
