PRAYERS 20 42. Another Verse ِّ ْرَب ٰاﺟْﻌَﻞ ﻫ َﺬَا ٰاﻟْﺒَﻠَﺪ ا َّﻣِﻨًﺎ ِْ و َِّاﺟْﻨُ;ْين ْوَﺑَين َّأَن َ ﻧ ﻌْﺒُﺪ اﻷَْﺻْﻨَﺎمَ. (Ibr a h i m 14:36) My Lord, make this city, a city of peace, and keep me and my children away from worshipping idols. 43. Prayer of the Apostles of Jesus Christ as Hadrat ‘ I s a as (Jesus) prayed on the insistence of his apostles for sustenance from Heaven. God replied, ‘Surely I will send it down to you, but whosoever of you disbelieves afterwards, I will surely punish them wherewith I will not punish any other of the people’. َ ُ ا َّ ﻟﻠّٰﻬ ﻢ ْرَﺑَّﻨَﺎ أَﻧْﺰِل 2َﻠَ[ْﻨَﺎ ً ﻣَﺂ ِّﺋِﺪَة َ ﻣ ﻦ ِ اﻟﺴَّﻤَﺂ ُء ﺗَﻜُﻮن ْﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻋِﻴ َِّﺪًا ﻻ ٰوَّﻟِﻨَﺎ وَا َﺧِﺮِﻧَﺎ ٰ و ً ا ِّﻳَﺔ َ ﻣ ﻨْﻚ َوَارْزُﻗْﻨَﺎ ُْوَأَﻧْﺖ ّٰﺧَري َْ اﻟﺮ زِﻗِني. (Al-M a ’idah 5:115) O All a h , our Lord, send down to us a table from heaven spread with food that it may be to us a festival, to the first of us and to the last of us, and a Sign from You; and provide sustenance for us, for You are the Best of sustainers. 44. Prayer for Strength, Superiority, Increase of Sustenance and Deliverance from Debt The Holy Prophet sa advised Hadrat Mu‘ a dh ra to recite these two verses for deliverance from debt. He said that if a believer in distress recites these verses, God would rid him of the burden of debt and misery. Muq a til ra bin H ayy a n said that the Holy Prophet sa was taught this prayer for victory over Persia and Rome. 24 َ ُ ا َّ ﻟﻠّٰﻬ ٰﻢ َ ﻣ ِﻠِﻚ ِاملُْﻠْﻚ َﺗُﺆْيت ْاملُْﻠْﻚ ﻣَﻦ ُ ﺗَﺸَﺂ ُء َوَﺗَِْع ْاملُْﻠْﻚ ممَِّﻦ ُ ﺗَﺸَﺂ ُّء ْوَﺗُﻌِﺰ ﻣَﻦ ُ ﺗَﺸَﺂ ُّء ْوَﺗُﺬِل ﻣَﻦ ُ ﺗَﺸَﺂ َء ُْﺑِﻴَﺪِك َاخلَْري ٰإِﻧَّﻚ _َ2ِّ Lٍُﻞ ْﺷَﻲْء ٌ ﻗَﺪِﻳ ْﺮ ُِ ﺗُﻮ َجل ِاﻟَّﻴْﻞ ِيف ْاﻟﻨَّﻬَﺎر ُِ وَﺗُﻮ َجل ِاﻟﻨَّﻬَﺎر ِيف ُاﻟَّﻴْﻞ َّوَختُْﺮِج َاحلَْﻲ ِﻣِﻦ املَْﻴِّﺖ
