PRAYERS 14 28. Prayer for Mercy and Forgiveness Hadrat Ab u -Bakr ra requested the Holy Prophet sa for a prayer to recite during s a la t. The prayer which was taught to him contains special supplications for mercy and forgiveness. 16 ِّ ْرَب ْاﻏْﻔِﺮ َوَارْﺣَﻢ ُْوَأَﻧْﺖ ّٰﺧَري اﻟﺮ ْ ﺣﻤ . (Al-Mu’min u n 23:119) My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the Best of those who show mercy. Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin Mas‘ u d ra recited these prayers along with the previous three verses of the S u rah and blew on a patient. The patient got better. He said, "By God if these verses are recited with full conviction and faith, even over a mountain it will move from its place”(meaning that it is a very potent prayer). 17 29. Humble Prayers of Throne-Bearing Angels for the Believers The Companions of the Holy Prophet sa were gathered together and were talking about God's Greatness when the Holy Prophet sa came and said, "I also will tell you something about God's Greatness. " Then he mentioned the throne-bearing angels of God who are His magnificent creation. 18 Ya h y a bin Mu‘ a dh ar-R a z i ra used to say that if one heavenly angel prays for the forgiveness of the believers, there is hope for God's pardon of sins, let alone the whole host of angels praying collectively. 19 َرَﺑَّﻨَﺎ َّوَﺳِﻌْﺖ Lٍُﻞ َﺷَﻲْء ر ً ﺣْﻤﺔ َّ و 2ِْﻠْﻤًﺎ ْﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِﺮ َ ﻟِﻠَّﺬِﻳ ْﻦ ﺗَﺎﺑُﻮ ْا وَاﺗَّﺒَﻌُﻮ ْا ﺳَ;ِﻴ َ ْﻠَﻚ َوَﻗِﻬِﻢ 2َْﺬَاب اجلَْﺤِﻴ ْﻢ ِ رَﺑَّﻨَﺎ ِوَأَدْﺧِﻠْﻬُﻢ ِﺟَﻨَّﺎت 2َﺪْن ِْ َُّاﻟَّيت ْو2ََﺪ ْ ْﻢ َوَﻣَﻦ ْﺻَﻠَﺢ ٰﻣِﻦ ا ْ ﺑَﺂ ْﺋِﻬِﻢ ّٰوَأَزْوَاﺟِﻬِﻢ ْ وَذُرِّﻳ َﺘِﻬِﻢ َإِﻧَّﻚ ْأَﻧْﺖ ُ اﻟْﻌَﺰِﻳ ْﺰ ُ احلَْﻜِﻴ ُﻢ ٰوَﻗِﻬِﻢ ِ اﻟﺴَّﻴِّﺎ ْت ِوَﻣَﻦ ٰﺗَﻖ ِ اﻟﺴَّﻴِّﺎ ٍت ْﻳَﻮْﻣَﺌِﺬ َﻓَﻘَﺪ ر ﺣﻤْﺘ
