PRAYERS 143 Your sudden chastisement and everything that incurs Your wrath. Prayer for the Protection of God Hadrat Ka‘b bin Al-A h b a r ra relates this prayer of the Holy Prophet sa. ْ ْ اَﻋُﻮ ْ ذ ُ ﺑِﻮَﺟ ْ ª ِ اﷲ ِ اﻟ ْ ﻌَﻈِﻴ ْﻢ ِ اﻟَّﺬِی [َﻟ َْ Õ َ ﺲ ٌ ْء ْ اَﻋ ِ ﻈَﻢ ُ ﻣِﻨ ِْ ª ُ وِﺑِ¤َﻠِﻤَﺎت ِ اﷲ َْاﻟﺘَّﺎﻣَّﺎت ِ اﻟَّىت ُْ ﻻَ جيَُﺎوِزُﻫُﻦ َّ ﺑَﺮ ٌّ وَّﻻ َ ﻓَﺎﺟِﺮٌوَّﺑِﺎَمس ْ ﺎء ِ اﷲ ِ احل ٰ ﺴ ْ ىن ُ ﻣَﺎ 2َﻠِﻤ ْ ﺖ ْ ﻣِﻨ ﻟَﻢ وَﻣَﺎ ْﻬَﺎ 2َا ْ ﻣِﻦ َﻠَﻢ ﺧَﻠَﻖَ وَذَرَأ َﺷَﺮِّ ﻣَﺎ ،وَﺑَﺮَأ. 286 I seek shelter in the Exalted Lord from Whom there is nothing greater. I seek shelter in His perfect and comprehensive words which neither the pious nor the wicked can transgress. I seek refuge in His holy attributes whether they are known to me or not. I seek His shelter from the evil of the creation He has created, carved and spread throughout the earth. Prayer for Deliverance from a Disagreeable Disposition Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Amr ra relates this prayer of the Holy Prophet sa. ِّْ ْاَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ اِىن ْ اَﻋُﻮ ْذُﺑِکَ ﻣِﻦ َّ ﻗَﻠ ﺐٍ ﻻ َْ ْ خي ْﺸَﻊُ،وَﻣِﻦ ْ د2َُﺎء ٍ ﻻَّ ﻳُﺴ ْﻤَﻊُ وَﻣِﻦ َّ ﻧَﻔ ﺲ ٍ ﻻ ْ ْ ﺗَﺸ ْﺒَﻊُ،وَﻣِﻦ 2ِﻠ ْ ْ ﻢٍ ﻻَّ ﻳَﻨ ْ ﻔَﻊُ،اَﻋُﻮ ٰذُﺑِکَ ﻣِﻦ ُ ﻫ َ ﺆ ْ ﻵ ِ ءِ اﻻَْر ﺑَﻊ. 287 O All a h , I seek Your deliverance from a heart which is devoid of fear, a prayer which is not accepted, a self which knows no contentment, and the knowledge which is not beneficial. My Guardian, I seek shelter from these four things. Prayer for Protection from Bad Habits Hadrat Umm-e-Ma‘bad relates that she heard the Holy Prophet sa recite this prayer:
