PRAYERS 98 Sayyidul-Istighf a r (Best Prayer for Seeking Forgiveness) Hadrat Buraidah ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa said that whosoever recites this prayer morning or evening and dies on that day or that night he will enter heaven. ْ ِّْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ اَﻧ ْﺖَ رَىب ْ ﻻَ اِﻟªَٰ اِﻻَّ اَﻧ ِْ ﺖَ ،ﺧَﻠَﻘ Zَْىن ﻋَﺒ ْ ،وَاَﻧَﺎ ﻋَﻬ ٰ_َ2 َ ﺪُکَ وَاَﻧَﺎ ْ ﺪِکَ و 2َو ْ ْ ﺪِک َ ﻣَﺎ اﺳ ْ ﺘَﻄَﻌ ْ ﺖ ُ اَﻋُﻮ ْذ ُ ﺑِک َ ﻣِﻦ ْ ﺷَﺮ ِّ ﻣَﺎ ﺻَﻨَﻌ َ ﺖ ُ ،اَﺑُﻮء ُ ﻟَک َ ﺑِﻨِﻌ ْ ﻤَﺘِک 2َ_ََّ،وَ اَﺑُﻮ ْ ْ ءُ ﻟَکَ ﺑِﺬَﻧ ْ ىبِ ،ﻓَﺎﻏ ﻔِﺮ ىلِ ﻓَﺎِﻧªَّ ْ ْ ﻻَ ﻳَﻐ ْ ﻔِﺮُ اﻟﺬُّﻧُﻮ بَ اِﻻَّ اَﻧ ﺖَ. 193 O All a h , You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship except You. You created me and I am Your servant. And I am steadfast in Your covenant and Your promise to the best of my capability. I seek refuge in You from the evil effects of my deeds. I acknowledge Your blessings and favours. I confess my sins, so You forgive me, as there is none except You who forgives sins. Prayer for Safety from Evil Moments and Evil Neighbour Hadrat ‘Uqbah bin ‘ A mir ra relates this tradition from the Holy Prophet sa for safety from the evils of the day and the night and a bad neighbour: ِّْ ْاَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اِىن ْ اَﻋُﻮ َّذ ُ ﺑِک َ ﻣِﻦ ْ ﻳ ْ ﻮ ْ م ِ اﻟﺴُّﻮ َّء ِ وَﻣِﻦ ْ ﻟ ْ ﻴ ْ ﻠَﺔ ِ اﻟﺴُّﻮ ِء ِ وَﻣِﻦ ْ ﺳَﺎﻋَﺔ ْ اﻟﺴُّﻮ ْءِ،وَﻣِﻦ ْ ﺻَﺎﺣِﺐِ اﻟﺴُّﻮ ْءِ،وَﻣِﻦ ِْ ﺟَﺎرِ اﻟﺴُّﻮ ُْءِ،ىف ِ دَارِ امل ﻘَﺎﻣَﺔ. 194 O All a h , I seek refuge in You from the evils of a bad day, bad night and a bad moment.
