PRAYERS 89 the distance for us. O All a h , You alone are our Companion during this travel and our Guardian in our homes. O All a h , I seek recourse in You from the hardship of the journey and from confronting some terrible scene. I seek Your shelter from undesirable return to my home. Prayer on Riding Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Umar ra relates that when the Holy Prophet sa used to ride his camel he repeated 'Sub ha nall a h' , 'Al h amdulill a h' and 'All a hu Akbar' three times and then recited this prayer: 172 ْ ٰ ﺳُﺒ ْ ﺤ ٰﻦ َ اﻟَّﺬِی ﺳَﺨَّﺮ َ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ﻫ ﺬَا و َ ﻣَﺎ کُﻨَّﺎ ﻟªَ ْ َْ ﻣُﻘ ﺮِﻧِني ْو َ اِﻧَّﺎ اِىل ٰ رَﺑِّﻨَﺎ ْ ملَُﻨ ﻘَﻠِﺒُﻮ نَ. (Az-Zukhruf 43:14-15) Holy is He, Who has subjected this mount to us, while we had not the strength to subdue it by ourselves. To our Lord surely shall we return. Prayer for Safety from Evil during a Journey As per narration of Hadrat Khaulah binte H ak i m ra , the Holy Prophet sa said that this prayer should be repeated whilst camping during a journey: ْ َ اَﻋُﻮ ﺧَﻠَﻖ ﺷَﺮِّ ﻣَﺎ ذُ ﺑِ¤َﻠِﻤَﺎتِ اﷲِ اﻟﺘَّﺎﻣَّﺎتِ ﻣِﻦ. 173 I seek the protection of All a h 's perfect and comprehensive words against the evil in the things which He has created. Prayer on Confronting a Terrifying Night during a Journey Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Umar ra relates that when night fell during a journey the Holy Prophet sa would supplicate: ْ ِّْ ﻳَﺎ اَر ْض ُ رَىب ْ وَ رَﺑُّک ِ اﷲُ ،اَﻋُﻮ ْذ ُ ﺑِﺎﷲ ِ ﻣِﻦ ﻓِﻴ ﺷَﺮِّکِ ،وَ ﺷَﺮِّ ﻣَﺎ ک ِ و َ ﺷَﺮ ِّ ﻣَﺎ
