171 Etiquette of Prayer (From the Instructions of Promised Messiah as ) The Promised Messiah as said: "Prayer is an astonishing thing. Alas, neither the people requesting prayers are familiar with the etiquettes of prayer, nor the people who pray are acquainted with the manner which makes the prayer acceptable. In fact there is total unawareness of the very essence of prayer. There are some who reject the prayer altogether and there are others who do not reject prayer but are in such a state that their prayers are not accepted for lack of the knowledge of the etiquettes of praying. Their prayer is not a prayer in the true sense of the word and these people are even worse than those who reject prayer. " (Malf uza t, vol. 2, page 693) "People who were not steadfast and constant and did not conform to the etiquettes of praying, when they did not achieve their wishes, they rejected prayer and its effects. They gradually lost faith in God. They say that if God did exist, why does He not listen to our supplications. These fools do not realise that God does exist but it is their prayers that are not real prayers in the true sense. " (Malf uza t, vol. 3, page 617) "Firstly; it is important to have faith in the Being, to whom we are praying. Believe that He exists and is All-Hearing, All-Seeing, All-Knowing and All- Powerful. And have firm faith that He listens and accepts prayers. " (Malf uza t, vol. 3, page 522)
