PRAYERS 136 jealous enemy to gloat over me. O All a h , I beg You for every good which is in Your treasure- house. I seek Your shelter from every evil which is in Your control. Prayer for Faith, Health and Good Manners Hadrat Ab u Hurairah ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa said to Hadrat Salm a n F a rs i ra , "I want to teach you such a prayer which you can offer with great affection and sincerity to the Gracious God, every morning and evening. " This is the prayer: ْ ِْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اِىن ِّ اَﺳ َْﺎَﻟُک َ ﺻِﺤَّﺔ ً ىف َْ اِمي ِْ ﺎن◌ٍٍ، و َ اِمي ْﺎﻧًﺎ ىف ْ ﺣُﺴ ﻦ ِ ﺧُﻠ ْ ﻖ ٍ و َ جنََﺎﺣًﺎ ﻳZَّ ﺒَﻌªُ َ وَ ر ﻓَﻼَحٌ، ْ ً ﺣ ﻤﺔ ْ ْ ﻣِﻨ ْ کَ وَ 2َﺎﻓِﻴَﺔً ،وَ ﻣَﻐ ْ ﻔِﺮَةً ﻣِﻨ کَ وَ رِﺿ ﻮَاﻧًﺎ. 270 O All a h , I beg You to bestow health upon me while being in a state of belief. Along with faith grant me good manners. I beg for success after success. I am also desirous of attaining Your pleasure and Your forgiveness. Prayer for Forgiveness and Pardon Hadrat Ab u M u s a Al-Ash‘ar i ra tells us of this prayer of the Holy Prophet sa. ْ ْ رَب ِّ اﻏ ِْ ﻔِﺮ ْىل ِْ ﺧَﻄِﻴ üَْىت ْ وَ ﺟَﻬ وَاِﺳ، ِ _ ِْ ِْﺮَاىف ْىف ْ اَﻣ ﺮِی ªُِّﻠL ْ ْ ،وَﻣَﺎ اَﻧ 2َا َ ﺖ ﻠَﻢ ُ ﺑªِ ِّْ ْﻣِىن ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اﻏ ْ ﻔِﺮ ْ ىل ِ ﺧَﻄَﺎﻳَﺎی َ وَﻋَﻤ ْﺪِی ِْ وَﺟَﻬ _ْ ِْ وَﻫَﺰ َىل ْ وLَُﻞ ُّ ذَاﻟِک ْ ﻋِﻨ ْ ﺪِی ْ ،اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اﻏ ِْ ﻔِﺮ ْىل ْ ﻣَﺎ ﻗَﺪَّﻣ ْ ﺖ ُ وَﻣَﺎ اَﺧَّﺮ ْ تُ،وَﻣَﺎ اَﺳ ﺮَر ْ ت ُ وَﻣَﺎ 2َا ْ ْ ﻠَﻨ ُْ ﺖُ،اَﻧ ْ ﺖَ امل ُْ ﻘَﺪِّمُ،وَاَﻧ َ ﺖَ امل ْ ﺆ َْ ﺧِّﺮُ،وَاَﻧ Õ ُِّﻞL ٰ_َ2 َﺖ ْ ءٍ ﻗَﺪِﻳ ﺮٌ. 271 O Lord, forgive my mistakes, my lack of knowledge, my transgressions in my affairs and all my affairs about which You know more than I do. Forgive my sins, my intentional or unintentional mistakes and my frivolous jokes. All these are my failings. O All a h , forgive my
