PRAYERS 130 Prophet sa used to offer this prayer: ِّْ ْاَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اِىن ْ اَﻋُﻮ ْ ذُﺑِک َ ﻣِﻦ َ اﻟ ﻌَﺠ ْﺰِ، وَاﻟ ُْکَﺴَﻞِ، ِْ وَاجل نب ْ ْوَاﻟ َْ ﺒُﺨ ﻞِ، وَاهل ،ِﺮَم ْ ِ وَاﻟﻘَﺴ ْﻮَة ْ وَاﻟ ِ ﻐَﻔ ﻠَﺔ ،ْ ْ وَاﻟ ﻌَﻴ ،َِْﻠَﺔ ْ وَاﻟﺬِّﻟَّﺔ ِ وَامل ﺴ ْکَﻨَﺔِ، َ وَاَﻋُﻮ ْ ذُﺑِک َ ﻣِﻦ ْ اﻟ ِ ﻔَﻘ ﺮ ،ْ ْ وَاﻟ ْ کُﻔ ْ ﺮ ِ وَاﻟ ْ ﻔُﺴُﻮ قِ، وَاﻟﺸِّﻘَﺎقِ، وَاﻟﻨِّﻔَﺎقِ، وَاﻟﺴُّﻤ ﻌَﺔ ِ وَاﻟﺮِّﻳَﺎ ،ِء ْ َ وَاَﻋُﻮ ِذُﺑِک َ ﻣِﻦ اﻟﺼَّﻤَﻢ ْ وَا ُْ ﻟﺒُک ْ ﻢِ،وَاجل ُْ ﻨُﻮ ن ِ وَاجل ْ ﺬَامِ، ِ وَاﻟ َِّء َ ِ و ص ََ ْ رب ِ اﻻَْﺳ ﻘَﺎم. 258 O All a h , I seek Your shelter from helplessness and lethargy, cowardice, miserliness, old age, hard-heartedness, carelessness, poverty, humiliation and abasement. I beseech Your protection from destitution, disbelief, disobedience, enmity, infidelity, infamy and deceit. I seek refuge in You from deafness, dumbness, insanity, leprosy and all other painful diseases. Prayers for Safety from Evil Eye Hadrat Ibne ‘Abb a s ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa used to pray and blow on Hadrat H asan and H ussain in these words. He said that Hadrat Ibr a h i m as (Abraham) used to pray for All a h ’s shelter in this manner for his sons, Hadrat Ism a ‘ i l as (Ishmael) and Hadrat Is ha q as (Isaac): ْ ْ اَﻋُﻮ ْذ ُ ﺑِ¤َﻠِﻤَﺎت ِ اﻟﻠªّٰ ِ اﻟﺘَّﺎﻣَّﺔ ِ ﻣِﻦ ُﻞ ِّ ﺷَﻴL ِ ْ ﻄَﺎن ٍ وَﻫَﺎﻣَّﺔ ٍ وَّﻣ ٍْﻦ ُﻞ ِّ 2َنيLٍ ﻻَّﻣَّﺔ. 259 I seek refuge in All a h 's perfect and comprehensive words from the harmful Satan, animals and every evil eye. Hadrat ‘ A mir bin Rab i ‘ah ra relates that one of his friends was under the influence of the evil eye. He recovered with the blessings of this prayer of the Holy Prophet sa : ْ ْ اَﻟﻠóُّٰﻢَّ اَذ ْﻫِﺐ ﺣَﺮَّﻫَﺎوَﺑَﺮ وَ وَﺻَﺒَﻬَﺎ دَﻫَﺎ. 260
