PRAYERS 88 false oath or suffering loss in a transaction in the market. Prayers for Travel Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Umar ra relates that whenever the Holy Prophet sa returned from a battle, ‘Umrah or H ajj , he used to say 'All a hu Akbar' three times when ascending an elevated place and recited this prayer on descending: َ ªٰﻻ َ اِﻟ ْ اِﻻ َّ اﷲ ُ وَﺣ ﺪَہ ْ ﻻ َ ﺷَﺮِﻳ ªَﻟ َ ک ُْ ْ ،ﻟªَ ُ امل َْ ﻠ ْ ک ُ وَﻟªَ ُ احل ِّ ﻤ ُﻞL ٰ _َ2 َ ﺪ ُ ،وَﻫُﻮ َْ Õ ْ ْ ءٍ ﻗَﺪِﻳ ْ ﺮٌ آﺋِﺒُﻮ ْ نَ،ﺗَﺎﺋِﺒُﻮ ْ نَ،2َﺎﺑِﺪُو ﺣَﺎﻣِﺪُو نَ ﻟِﺮَﺑِّﻨَﺎ نَ. 170 There is none worthy of worship except All a h. He is One and has no partner. His is the kingdom. All praise belongs to All a h and He has authority over everything. We are returning in repentance, obedience and are glorifying God. Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Umar ra relates that the Holy Prophet sa used to recite this prayer at the start of a journey: (This is a combined narration of Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Umar and Hadrat Ab u Hurairah) ْ ٰ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اِﻧَّﺎ ﻧَﺴ ْ ﺎَﻟُک َ ىف ِ ﺳَﻔَﺮِﻧَﺎ ﻫ ْ ﺬَا اﻟ ْ رب َِّ وَاﻟﺘَّﻘ ْ ﻮٰی ،وَﻣِﻦ َ اﻟ ٰ ﻌَﻤَﻞ ِ ﻣَﺎ ﺗَﺮ Ý ْ ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اﺻ ;َﺤ ْ ْ ﻨَﺎ ﺑِﻨُﺼ ْ ﺤِکَ،وَاﻗ ;ِﻠ َّ ْﻨَﺎ ﺑِﺬِﻣَّﺔ ٍ ،اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ ْ از َ وِﻟَﻨَﺎ اﻻَْر َّض ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ ْﻫَﻮِّن [َ2َﻠ ْ ْ ﻨَﺎ ىف ِ ﺳَﻔَﺮِﻧَﺎ ﻫٰﺬَا ،وَاﻃ ْ ﻮ ِ ﻋَﻨَّﺎ ﺑُﻌ ﺪ َ اﻻَْر ْضِ، َ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اَﻧ َْ ﺖ ْ اﻟﺼَّﺎﺣِﺐ ُ ىف ِ اﻟﺴَّﻔَﺮِ،وَاخل ْ ﻠِﻴ ْ ﻔَﺔ ُ ىف ِ اﻻَْﻫ ْ ﻞ ِ ،اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ اِىن ِّ اَﻋُﻮ َّذُﺑِکَ ﻣِﻦ ْ و ِ ﻋ َْ ﺜَﺎء ْ اﻟﺴَّﻔَﺮِ ،وَ Lَﺂﺑَﺔِامل ْ ﻨ ُْ ﻈَﺮِ وَ ﺳُﻮ ْ ءِ امل ْ ﻨ َْ ﻘَﻠَﺐِ ىفِ اﻻَْﻫ ﻞِ وَامل ﺎل. 171 O All a h , we seek piety and righteousness during this journey. We seek Your help in doing the deeds that please You. O All a h , in Your kindness be our travelling companion and bring us back according to Your promise. O All a h , shorten the distance of the earth and O All a h , make the journey easier for us and shorten
