[ 12 ] If 1953 is forgotten or one does not desire to look at the decision rendered by the Report of the Court of Inquiry of 1953, then just look at what is going on in Pakistan today. The fact of the matter is that tens of millions of rupees are collected as zak a t and employed to make a special group of so-called ulema [a class of Muslim scholars], whose only function is to abuse Ahmad i s. Instead of educating com- mon people and spreading the religion of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa , the only task of these so-called ulema is just that they should abuse Ahmad i s. The only services to Islam that are being asked of them are to lie, to malign Ahmad i s, and to incite others to murder and rob people of their homes and properties in the name of Islam. In conclusion, this is what the government is using the so-called ulema to do as the hallmark of service in Islam. Despite these things, an attempt is being made to con- vince the world that, in fact, it is the Ahmad i s who are sow- ing the seeds of hatred in society; that [supposedly] the whole of Pakistan is a victim of Ahmad i aggression, and pretending that these poor ulema have been very patient and have done nothing against Ahmad i s, they question how long their ‘suffering’ continue. This is the picture the government is trying to draw of their innocence, but the world is not stupid. We have tape recordings in our posses- sion of the maulav i s in which they have used filthy language and have incited people to violence. Whatever filth is cur- rently spawning in Pakistan is seeping out as well. When
