T E S T I MON Y OF T HE HOLY Q U R AN 50 to do at all with the carrying out of that action, while He Himself says: 1 اَل ُرِزَت ٌةَرِزاَو َرْزِّو ىٰرْخُا Similarly, if the people of Moses as had disobeyed him and were struck by the thunderbolt, or they had worshipped the calf and were smitten by chastisement, then what did this other people, who were born 2,000 years later, have to do with these incidents? Generally speaking, from the time of Hadrat A dam as to this day, the earlier people are like ancestors to the later ones, but no one’s sin can be attributed to someone else. In addition, there is God Almighty’s saying in the Holy Quran that you disobeyed Moses as and you said that ‘we would not believe in God until we saw Him face-to-face’, and owing to this sin the thunderbolt struck you: Taken literally, how can we interpret all these statements except to say that, in fact, all the Jews who were alive in the time of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, were also alive in the time of Moses as ; and on them indeed had descended mann and salw a, and the thunderbolt had in fact struck them, and they were actually the ones for whose sake the Pharaoh was killed and, moreover, the same Jews were reincarnated in the time of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him; and therefore, addressing them as such was justified. But the question is, why are such clear and simple meanings not accepted. Are they beyond the power of God Almighty? And 1.
