For the Attention of the Government This humble one states clearly and concisely that the British gov - ernment has bestowed favours upon this family since the time of my late, revered father, Mirza Ghulam Murta da , till today. Therefore, gratitude to this esteemed government has made a home in my very veins and sinews, without any constraint. Those services, which he wholeheartedly rendered as a well-wisher of this government can never be separated from the life history of my late father. As permitted by his means and resources, he always served the government in its various circumstances and needs with such sincerity and loyalty as can never be displayed unless one is truly and honestly, from the bottom of one’s heart, a well- wisher of someone.
