H A D R AT M IR Z A GHU L A M AH M AD A S 93 This is because it is clearly declaring that Islamic Khilafat is eter - nal, for the word َرِثُھَا ي [ yarithuh a —shall inherit it] requires perma - nency. The reason is that if the last turn belongs to the sinners, then surely they, and not the righteous, would be considered heirs of the earth. For he who comes last is deemed to be the heir to everyone. Another thing to ponder is that God Almighty made it clear by way of analogy that He would continue to raise Khulaf a ’ in this ummah just as He had raised them after Moses. We need to see what God Almighty did after the death of Moses. Did He send Khulaf a ’ for only thirty years, or did He extend their period to 1,400 years? Moreover, in view of the fact that God Almighty bestowed the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, with much greater grace than Moses, as He Himself has said, 1 َو َناَك ُلْضَف ِهّٰللا َكْيَلَع اًمْيِظَع And similarly, with regard to this ummah, He said, 2 ْمُتْنُك َرْيَخ ٍةَّمُا ْتَجِرْخُا ِساَّنلِل How could it be possible that in the Mosaic dispensation the period of Khilafat extended to 1,400 years, but in this dispen - sation it came to an end after just thirty years?
