The very word ذِكْر [ Dhikr —remembrance] 1 indicates clearly that the Holy Quran will be preserved forever as a remembrance, and its true dh a kirs [those who engage in remembrance] will always be present. Another verse confirms this: 2 ْلَب َوُه ٌۢتٰيٰا ٌتٰنِّيَب ْيِف ِرْوُدُص َنْيِذَّلا اوُتْوُا َمْلِعْلا Meaning that, the Holy Quran is composed of clear Signs in the bosoms of those who have been bestowed knowledge. This verse clearly means that the believers have been bestowed knowledge of the Holy Quran and the ability to act upon it. As the Quran is preserved in the bosoms of the believers, the verse, 3 اَّنِا ُنْحَن اَنْلَّزَن َرْكِّذلا َو اَّنِا ٗهَل َنْوُظِفٰحَل cannot have any meaning other than that it will not be obliterated from their bosoms the way the Torah and the Gospels were obliterated from the bosoms of the Jews and Christians; and that although the Torah and the Gospels remained in their hands and safe boxes, they vanished from their hearts. That is to say, their hearts did not remain steadfast upon them and they failed to establish and preserve the Torah and the Gospels in their hearts.
