جلد 21 496 تاریخ احمدیت her whims and prejudices to an arena which, to be true to its salt, should be singularly free from them۔In expecting her to support a Pakistani's candidature this country did not expect that India would do a good turn in return for this country's good turn to her in 1953 but that she would shed irrational prejudices and take a wider view of men and matters at a forum wich should be above all narrow-mindedness۔India's conduct comes as no surprise to Pakistan; indeed this very approach is responsible for the continuing deadlock over Kashmir in the United Nations۔In several respects Pakistan should be eminently suited to preside over a body like the UN General Assembly۔Her support for the aims and ideals of the United Nations has been spontaneous and unqualified۔She has been a most dedicated upholder of the right of self-determination for peoples everywhere۔For fifteen long years she has waged almost a lonely but resolute, fight for the liberation of Kashmir in terms of the Security Counsil resolution۔Although the provocation to give up the policy of peace has for long been the greatest yet Pakistan has refused to succumb to it۔Her nationals can, therefore, be relied upon to serve the best interest of the world body۔We are confident that Chaudhry Zafrullah would measure up to world's expectations۔
