E ARLY Y EARS – 1881 37 About 1877 42 From this, I understand that the A rya religion would fail by God’s decree and that they [ A rya Sam a jists] will run away from their religion, shall turn their backs upon it, and will come to naught. This revelation came to me a long time ago—a matter of nearly thirty years—and I communicated it to a local A rya, namely, L a lah Sharampat. [Tatimmah Haqiqatul-Wahi , p. 167, R uha n i Khaz a ’in, vol. 22, p. 607] About 1878 About twenty-five years ago, I saw a dream in Gurdaspur that I was sitting on a ch a r-pa’ i [cot] and that Maulav i ‘Abdull a h Ghaznav i (deceased ) was sitting on my left on the same cot. Meanwhile, it passed through my mind that I should push Maulav i [‘Abdull a h Ghaznav i] off the ch a r- pa’ i. I began to move slowly towards him until he got off the cot and sat down on the ground. Thereupon, three angels appeared from heaven, one of whom bore the name: Khair a ’it i. They also sat down on the ground as Maulav i ‘Abdull a h was sitting and I remained seated on the ch a r- pa’ i. Then I said to all of them: ‘I will now pray and you say A m i n. ’ Thereafter, I supplicated: 43 On this, the three angels and Maulav i ‘Abdull a h all said: ‘ A m i n’. Thereafter, the three angels and Maulav i ‘Abdull a h flew up to the sky and I woke up. 42 [Arabic] The host shall soon be routed, and they will turn their backs in flight.
