[Makt u b a t-e-Ahmadiyyah, vol. 5, no. 5, part 1, p. 27, Letter dated June 27, 1899, addressed to Seth ‘Abdur-Ra h m a n of Madras] 1899 [Urdu] He who does not follow you and does not enter into a pledge of bai‘at with you and remains hostile to you, is disobedient to God and His Messenger and is destined for hell. [From the Letter of the Promised Messiah as dated June 16, 1899, addressed to B abu Il a h i Bakhsh, Majm u ‘a-e-Ishtih a r a t, vol. 3, p. 275] June 30, 1899 On June 30, 1899 I received the revelation: [Urdu] First unconsciousness, then swoon, then death. And the indication was that this had reference to a sincere friend whose death would cause me great pain. I announced this revelation to several members of my Jam a ‘at and it has been published in the al- H akam of June 30, 1899. 486 [Arabic] O Ever-Living and Self-Subsisting One, I supplicate for Your mercy. Indeed, my Lord is the Lord of the heavens and earth. [Publishers]
