A PPENDIX 1071 June 7, 1900 [Arabic] Thus indeed do We reward those who do good deeds. [Dhikr-e- H ab i b, p. 240] June 18, 1900 The day before yesterday the Promised Messiah [as] was suffering from headache and was shown an announcement in a vision relating to the Ghaznav i s. He recalled at the end of a line, the words: [Urdu] Black faces; and then received the revelation: [Arabic] Faces have been blackened. (The reference is to the opponents. ) [Letter of Hadrat Maulav i ‘Abdul-Kar i m to M i r Ha mid Sh a h, published in al- H akam, vol. 37, no. 10, March 21, 1934, p. 10] November 1900 The Promised Messiah as wrote: I have been ill for several days. My health deteriorated. Three days ago, Bash i r Ma h m u d had high fever. When I was about to supplicate for him, it passed through my mind that you [addressing me 1274 the Promised Messiah said] and Maulav i N u r-ud-D i n [ra] were also ill, and I prayed for the three.
