A PPENDIX 1037 Thereafter he received another revelation: [Arabic] [ Comely patience is good for him. ] …The Promised Messiah as observed: Miy a ń ‘Abdull a h must have a very strong relationship with me for as soon as I supplicate on his behalf, I receive a reply from God Almighty. A few days later he received a reply from Muhammad Y u suf who wrote that his father, grandfather, and father-in-law were agreeable but that Ism a ‘ i l was unwilling. Upon this the Promised Messiah as said: I shall now speak to Ism a ‘ i l myself… for it is possible that the revelation means that the manner in which the matter has been approached has drawn failure and that some other method might be successful…. Then the Promised Messiah as spoke to Ism a ‘ i l but he made several excuses and rejected the proposal. I also saw in the vision that Ism a ‘ i l’s forefinger had been cut off from which I understood that his reply would be disagreeable. …’ Thereafter Ism a ‘ i l married off his daughter to someone else….
