 (American Edition)   63  (11) َ ِّی َٖ ؕ و َ کَان ِ و َ خَاتَم َ النَب ّلل ی کِن ۡ رَسُوۡل َ ا ی مَا کَان َ مُحَمَد ٌ اَبَاۤاَحَد ٍ مِن ۡ رِجَالِکُم ۡ وَل ﴾ ٪ ِ َشَۡء ٍ عَلِیۡمًا ﴿ ُبِکُل ّلل ی ا “Muḥ ammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allāh and the Seal of the Prophets; and Allāh has full knowledge of all things. ” (33[Al-A ḥ z ā b]:41) (12) َٖ ِّی ُۡہِۡ مِن َ النَب ُ عَلَی ّلل ی ّل َِیۡن َ اَنۡعَم َ ا َ وَالرَسُوۡل َ فَاُولٰٓئِک َ مَع َ ا ّلل ی ِ وَمَن ۡ یُطِع ِ ا ِّیَۡ وَالشُہَد َٓاء َ وَالصِدِیۡق ِّیَۡ ۚ و لِح ی ؕ وَالص حَسُن َ اُولٰٓئِک َ رَفِیۡقًا ﴿ ﴾ “And whoso obeys Allāh and this Messenger of His shall be among those on whom Allāh has bestowed His blessings, namely, the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. And excellent companions are these. ” (4[Al-Nis ā] :70) (13) َ اِن ؕ ِ ًُلً و َ مِن َ النَاس ُ یَصۡطَفِی ۡ مِن َ الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃ ِرُس َّلل ی ۚا ِۡیٌۡ ﴿ َ سَمِیۡع ٌٌۢبَص ّلل ی ا ﴾ “Allāh chooses His Messengers from among angels, and from among men. Surely, Allāh is All - Hearing, All- Seeing. ” (22[Al- Ḥ ajj]:76) (14) َ ی و َ اَصۡلَح ی ِتِۡ ۙ فَمَن ِ اتَق ی ی ی دَم َاِمَا یَاۡتِیَنَکُم ۡ رُسُل ٌ مِنۡکُم ۡ یَقُصُوۡن َ عَلَیۡکُم ۡ ا ی َِنِۡۤا َ ییب َۡلَ ہُم ۡ یَحۡز ُۡہِۡ و ًَلَ خَوۡف ٌ عَلَی ف نُوۡن َ ﴿ ﴾ “O children of Adam! if Messengers come to you from among yourselves, rehearsing My Signs unto you, then whoso shall fear God and do good deeds, on them shall come no fear nor shall they grieve. ” (7[Al-A ‘ r ā f]:36) Meaning of the T erm Kh ā tamun - Nabiy yī n as The Cheif of the Prophets Here we give e xamples of the term Khātam used by prominent Muslim scholars in various contexts illustrating it to mean the chief, the best, the one who excels in the field.
