Abu Bakr got very worried when he saw them standing there, at the mouth of the cave. He could hear their voices. He could even see them moving about, through a narrow opening of the cave. He whispered to the Holy Prophet saw his fear that they might be discovered. The Holy Prophet saw replied calmly, ‘Grieve not, for Allah is with us’. Abu Bakr was reassured. The Makkans thought that they had missed the track and returned frustrated. The Holy Prophet saw and Abu Bakr spent two nights and two days in the cave.
