Victorious Return to Makkah According to the treaty of Hudaibiyyah, the Arab tribes were given the choice to join either the Makkans or the Muslims. It was also agreed that for ten years the parties would not fight against each other. Under this agreement the tribe of Banu Bakr joined the Makkans while the tribe of Banu Khuzaa’ah entered into an alliance with the Muslims. It so happened that Banu Bakr, backed by the Makkans, attacked the tribe of Banu Khuzaa’ah and killed many of their men.
