Power of Prayer Prayer is the principal means by which man attains near ness to God Almighty. God says in the Holy Qur’an, ‘When my servants ask you about Me, O Prophet, tell them I am close. I respond to the call of one who calls on Me. So they should respond to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right path’. (Holy Quran 2:187) However powerful a man may be, his every action is depend- ant on the will and help of God, for which he has to turn to Him. Even the Holy Prophet saw, like the rest, stood in need of His mercy and favour. He asked for His guidance and help in all matters and situations. Here are some instances which show how readily God heard his prayers.
