148 The Holy Prophet saw told him to raise the shirt from his back. The man lifted up the shirt from the Prophet’s saw back, and instead of hitting him, bent forward and kissed him on his back. ‘What is this?’ asked the Holy Prophet saw. The man replied, ‘Your elbow did brush against me. But who could think of taking revenge from a kind person like you. You had now offered me a good opportunity of showing my love and devotion to you’. The Companions who had hitherto been very angry with the man, now began to envy him.
