101 A Strange Contest When the Muslims came out of Madinah to fight against the Makkan army in the battle of Uhud, some youngsters also accompanied them in their zeal to fight for Islam. The Holy Prophet saw found them out during his inspection and asked them to go back. Among them were Zaid bin Thabit, Abu Saeed Khudri, Samurah bin Jundub and Raafi bin Khudaij. Zaid was an orphan. He was in his teens when the battle of Uhud was fought. He offered himself for the battle, but was sent back by the Prophet saw. Abu Saeed Khudri was thirteen years old.
