Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad 42 would not strike in another country. Rather he affirmed that this calamity would also occur in other places. He wrote: O’ Europe, you are not secure; and O’ Asia, you are not protected. O’ ye that dwell in the islands, no artificial god will help you. I see cities falling and find the habitations in ruin. 29 Similarly, the verses which contain the prophecy of the present war, clearly speak of a cataclysm of global proportions, as in the verse: ےگ اس وخف ےس س ب نج و اسن ی ئ لحمضم وہاج� زار یھب وہ اگ وت وہاگ اس ڑھگی �بااحل زار Men high and low will be convulsed with fear and the Tsar himself will, at that hour, be in sad case. 30 Thus when the Promised Messiah as himself identifies the people of the world in general and the Tsar of Russia who lives over 7000 miles from India in particular as victims of this promised calamity, then to assert that the prophecy is undermined if the catastrophe occurs 29 Tadhkirah , p. 881, 2009 Ed.
