A Sign of Allah 33 donated to many organizations such that it appears as though he spent his entire life-savings in this work. And when you look at his financial contributions and services to the Ahmadiyya Jam a ‘at, it seems as if all of his earnings were being spent on the Jam a ‘at and nowhere else. He contributed to the Jam a ‘at with immense generosity and with open arms. At this time, all the buildings of the London mission are completely as a result of his personal efforts and all expenses were paid for by his personal finances. The mis - sion house, this hall, the auxiliary hall reserved for the ladies, and the guest house, all of these by the grace of God, were a result of his efforts. And for himself, he kept a very small room. In that alone he would spend his time and even that he did not utilize towards the end of his life. When it was needed by the Jam a ‘at towards the end of his life, or perhaps because he could not climb too many stairs, he left even that [for the Jam a ‘at]. In addition to this, he wholeheartedly participated in the various initiatives that periodically arose from time to time. Specifically, during the time of Hadrat Mu s le h Mau‘ u d ra an initiative calling for individuals to pledge all of their assets and estates was made, and he was amongst the first to offer up everything. And the way in which he was instilled with righteousness and virtue shows he was a man of great mag - nificence. This is also evident from the letter that I read out to you. When he did waqf of his life [for the Jam a ‘at], what he meant by it was that he would not even keep a penny for
