An Ode in Praise of God Almighty and the Best of Mankind 43 ٗ قَد ْ اٰثَرُوْا وَجْہ َ النَّبِي ِّ و َ نُوْرَہ ٗ ِقَد ْ اٰثَرُوْا وَجْہ َ النَّبِي ِّ و َ نُوْرَہ ِ الرُّفَقَاء ْ صُحْبَۃ مِن ِوَتَبَاعَدُوْا ِ الرُّفَقَاء ْ صُحْبَۃ مِن وَتَبَاعَدُوْا They preferred the countenance of the Holy Prophet Muhammad s as and its light; And they distanced themselves from the company of their [ for- mer] friends. فِي وَقْت ِ ظُلُمَات ِ الْمَفَاسِد ِ نُوِّرُوْا ِفِي وَقْت ِ ظُلُمَات ِ الْمَفَاسِد ِ نُوِّرُوْا ِوَجَدُوْا السَّنَا فِي اللَّیْلَۃ ِ اللَّـی ْـاَلَء وَجَدُوْا السَّنَا فِي اللَّیْلَۃ ِ اللَّـی ْـاَلَء They were illuminated during the darkness of corruption; They found light in the gloomiest of all dark nights. ْ ْ فَمَلِیْکُهم ُ نُشُوْبَھُم ئَام ِّ َ الل نَھَب ْ ْ فَمَلِیْکُهم ُ نُشُوْبَھُم ئَام ِّ َ الل ِنَھَب ِأَعْطٰی جَوَاھِر َ حِکْمَۃ ٍ و َ ضِیَاء أَعْطٰی جَوَاھِر َ حِکْمَۃ ٍ و َ ضِیَاء The malicious people usurped their property and belongings; Then their Heavenly King granted them the precious jewels and gems of true wisdom and Divine light. ْ ِ رَبِّهم لِعِزَّۃ ْ قُتِلُوْا لَھُم وَاھًا ْ ِ رَبِّهم لِعِزَّۃ ْ قُتِلُوْا لَھُم ِوَاھًا َ صَفَاء ٍ و ٗ بِصَدَاقَۃ لَہ ِمَاتُوْا َ صَفَاء ٍ و ٗ بِصَدَاقَۃ لَہ مَاتُوْا How wonderous are they! They were slain for the honour of their Lord; And they laid down their lives for His sake in the spirit of truth and purity. شَهِدُوا الْمَعَارِك َ کُلَّها حَتّٰی قَضَوْا ِشَهِدُوا الْمَعَارِك َ کُلَّها حَتّٰی قَضَوْا ْ بِوَفَاء ِ نَحْبَهم الْمُھَیْمِن ِلِرِضَا ْ بِوَفَاء ِ نَحْبَهم الْمُھَیْمِن لِرِضَا They were present in all battles until they fulfilled their covenant; With faithfulness for the pleasure of the Protector. مَا فَارَقُوْا سُبُل َ الھُدٰی و َ تَخَیَّرُوْا ِمَا فَارَقُوْا سُبُل َ الھُدٰی و َ تَخَیَّرُوْا َ الْھَیْجَاء وَبَوَائِق َ الْعِدَا ِجَوْر َ الْھَیْجَاء وَبَوَائِق َ الْعِدَا جَوْر They did not stray from the pathways of guidance and they gladly accepted; The tyranny of their enemies and the hardships of many a wilderness.
