34 إِنِّی ْ شَرِبْت ُ کُئُوْس َ مَوْت ٍ لِلْهدٰی ْإِنِّی ْ شَرِبْت ُ کُئُوْس َ مَوْت ٍ لِلْهدٰی ْفَرَأَیْت ُ بَعْد َ الْمَوْت ِ عَیْن َ بَقَائِي فَرَأَیْت ُ بَعْد َ الْمَوْت ِ عَیْن َ بَقَائِي I drank up goblet after goblet of death, for the sake of Guidance; Thus it was, after my (ego’s) death that I saw the Spring of my survival. ٍ ِ لَذَاذَۃ ْ بِزَمْن ْ مُرَادَاتِي فُقِدَت ٍ ِ لَذَاذَۃ ْ بِزَمْن ْ مُرَادَاتِي ِفُقِدَت ٍ وَص ِاَلَء فُرْقَۃ فِي ِفَوَجَدْتُّها ٍ وَص ِاَلَء فُرْقَۃ فِي فَوَجَدْتُّها My desires, at the age where one is given to pleasure, became extinct; Thus, I regained those in the times of separation and burning. َ مِن َ الرَّحْمٰن ِ مِصْبَاح ُ الْهدٰی اْل ْ لَو َ مِن َ الرَّحْمٰن ِ مِصْبَاح ُ الْهدٰی اْل ْ ِلَو ِ صَفَاء بِغَیْر ْ زُجَاجَتُنَا ِکَانَت ِ صَفَاء بِغَیْر ْ زُجَاجَتُنَا کَانَت Had there not been the illuminating lamp from God, the Gracious; Our glass [of heart and soul] would have remained without being cleaned. ْ إِنِّي أَرَی ٰ فَضْل َ الْکَرِیْم ِ أَحَاطَنِي ْ ِإِنِّي أَرَی ٰ فَضْل َ الْکَرِیْم ِ أَحَاطَنِي ِ ااْلُْخْرٰی و َ ف ِي ااْلِْبْدَاء ِفِي النَّشْأَۃ ِ ااْلُْخْرٰی و َ ف ِي ااْلِْبْدَاء فِي النَّشْأَۃ I observe that the munificence of God the Bounteous has enveloped me; In the Hereafter, as well as in this life. ٖ َ عِلْمِہ ْ حَدَائِق ُّٰ أَعْطَانِي هّٰلل َ ا ٖ َ عِلْمِہ ْ حَدَائِق ُّٰ أَعْطَانِي هّٰلل َ ِا ُ کَالسُّفَهاء ُ کُنْت َ الْعِنَایَۃ اْل ْ ِلَو ُ کَالسُّفَهاء ُ کُنْت َ الْعِنَایَۃ اْل ْ لَو Allah has granted me gardens of His Knowledge; Were it not for this Divine favour, I would have been like the foolish. ْ مَقْدَمِی وَ قَدِ اقْتَضَتْ زَفَرَاتُ مَرْضٰی ْ مَقْدَمِی ِوَ قَدِ اقْتَضَتْ زَفَرَاتُ مَرْضٰی َ شِفَاء ً کُئُوْس اْل ُ حَمَّا ِفَحَضَرْت َ شِفَاء ً کُئُوْس اْل ُ حَمَّا فَحَضَرْت It is the sighs [of longing] of the [spiritually] sick, which has demanded my advent; Thus, I came before them, holding goblets filled with remedy.
